Anthology of Carolina Poets!

 

Dear Poets and Visual Artists:
The 2009 Kakalak Contest is underway! Don't wait to the last minute (the Holiday rush). Instead, send your poetry and art in now. Acceptance dates are October 1, 2008, to January 10, 2009. Before Submitting, read the guidelines posted in the menu to the left.

Guest Poetry Judge: Bob Hicok, award winning poet and professor

Special Guest Contributors: Carolyn Moore, winner of the 2008 Poetry Contest, and visual artist Kathleen Pompe, winner of the 2008 Visual Art Competition

 

The Available Prizes Consist of:
Poetry: 1st $300, 2nd $100, 3rd $50
Visual Art: 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50


The Kakalak 2009 Anthology contestants include residents and natives of North and South Carolina.

Kakalak Anthology of Carolina Poets is holding the 2009 Poetry Contest and Art Competition from October 1, 2008 through the postmark date of January 10, 2009. All contest participants will be notified of their publication status by March 3, 2009.

Kakalak Anthology welcomes natives and current residents of both North and South Carolina to participate in the contest. Non-natives and previous residents are also welcome to participate by submitting work specifically related to the Carolinas, and this poetry and/or visual art may be accepted at the Editors' discretion.
