It’s all about showcasing the work of our talented NC and SC poets and artists—and having fun doing it. These readings will fill up quickly, so let us hear from you soon.We are still working on possible readings in Asheville or Boone, Greenville, NC or Spartanburg, Charleston, Durham or Chapel Hill, Wilmington, and possibly other locations depending on interest. As we’ve said before, there is no guarantee all of these readings will materialize, but we are making a good faith effort to arrange a readings wherever we have enough Kakalak poets and artists to make it viable.

Events are open to the public, and the co-editors--Beth Cagle Burt, Lisa Zerkle, and Richard Allen Taylor--cordially invite all Kakalak contributors to attend and participate in any or all of the Kakalak Readings we have planned. All poets and artists with work in this year's anthology are welcome to read their poems and/or give a brief talk about their artistic images. We appreciate the opportunity to include your wonderful work in the Kakalak Anthology of Carolina Poets.

Thanks to our contributors and participants we have been able to enjoy many readings that were terrific fun. We plan to continue the tradition each year. There really is something special--some would even say exhilarating--about sharing the stage with fellow poets and visual artists who have collaborated with editors in the creation of a great work of art.

Remember: As events are listed, poets and artists who wish to participate, please RSVP to kakalakpoetry@aol.com to indicate which of the following events you plan to attend.
